Manifesto for Chris C. Karpee & Egyeriwa Adjoa Okor | SRC Presidential Aspirants
A Message from Chris C. Karpee
Fellow Bluecrest Weekend Students,
My name is Chris C. Karpee, a Semester 6 BSC IT student, and I am asking for your mandate to serve as your next SRC President.
I understand who you are. You are not just students; you are professionals, entrepreneurs, and hardworking individuals who have chosen to invest your weekends in building a brighter future. Your time is valuable, and every moment on campus must count.
My campaign is built on a foundation of real-world experience that mirrors your own. I bring a background in corporate management and have served as an IT consultant for government agencies in Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Liberia. I have also had the privilege of representing our school at numerous tech events, most recently the Robotics Coding Challenge. I know what it means to balance responsibility with ambition.
This experience has taught me that effective leadership is about strategy, execution, and respect for people’s time. My mission is to ensure that you—the weekend student—are not an afterthought but a priority. We will connect you to the heart of campus life, solve the unique challenges you face, and create opportunities that fit your schedule and your goals.
Let’s stop waiting. Let’s build the future, together.
Our Vision:
To forge a Bluecrest College where every student—whether weekday or weekend—is equipped to lead, innovate, and thrive.
Our Mission:
To bridge the gap between ambition and achievement by deploying practical technologies, creating real-world opportunities, and fostering an inclusive community where every student’s voice is heard and every talent is nurtured.
My Record of Delivery: A Preview of My Leadership:
- Proven Advocacy: Elected International Students’ Ambassador for two consecutive terms (2023–2024), successfully negotiating an increase in the Ambassadors’ Fund.
- Job Creator: My startup, Entnet Solutions, currently employs three Bluecrest students and provides free job training to five more.
- Solution Provider: We have already partnered with on-campus IT clubs to provide Entnet Tools, software solutions actively used by students today.
Our Core Policies & Projects
Our policies and projects are simple: to work on different systems that will improve the following aspects of the school. We understand that as weekend students, your time is limited and your needs are specific. These initiatives are designed with your schedule, your career, and your success in mind.
1. Entrepreneurship & Innovation Revolution (Inclusive of All Students)
We will empower every student to become a creator, regardless of their schedule.
- Launch the Blueabb App: An AI-powered social and business hub for all Bluecrest departments. Weekend students can use the Marketplace to sell products, showcase their professional portfolios, and access academic materials on their own time.
- BCS Promote Programme: A dedicated committee that will run professional marketing campaigns for student businesses—including those run by weekend students.
- Student Brand Week: An annual event scheduled to accommodate both weekday and weekend students, showcasing student entrepreneurs and attracting external investors.
- Premium Food Delivery Initiative: A food delivery app that allows weekend students to pre-order meals and maximize their limited time on campus for learning and networking.
2. Academic Excellence & Technological Infrastructure (Built for Weekend Students)
We will provide the tools for superior academic performance, ensuring your study time is efficient and effective.
- Premium Starlink Internet Access: We will provide students with access to ultra-fast, low-latency Starlink internet on campus at an extremely affordable fee. No more struggling with poor connectivity during your limited study hours.
- The Bluecrest Professional Bootcamp Series: Affordable, high-value vacation bootcamps for all departments, scheduled during breaks so they do not interfere with your work or weekend lectures.
- IT Practicals & Equipment: We will purchase IT equipment for N+, A+, and cyber security practicals. We will also host Hackathons and IT competitions—both internally and externally—with flexible timing to include weekend students.
- Campus Cyber Security Upgrade: We will propose a modernized digital security infrastructure to better protect student data.
3. Empowering Our Ladies & International Students (Inclusive of Weekend Students)
We are committed to an inclusive and supportive campus for all.
- The “She Thrives” Initiative: Featuring mentorship, leadership workshops, and safe-space forums scheduled at times that accommodate weekend students.
- Enhanced International Student Integration: Reviving the International Students Week and a tailored orientation programme (BOP) that includes sessions for weekend students.
- International Student Welfare Committee: We will form this committee to inspect hostels and report directly to the SRC and administration, addressing concerns like unconducive living conditions and the impact of dollar rate instability. We will also negotiate with the school for stable cedi-based payment plans for international students.
4. Programmes for a Vibrant Campus Life (Designed for Your Schedule)
We will connect weekend students to the broader campus community without disrupting your work-life balance.
- Inclusive Association Leadership: The Entrepreneurship Association, Departmental Associations (IT, BBA, Mass Communication), and all other student associations will be structured to include weekend student representatives and host events at times accessible to you.
- Departmental Associations: We will strengthen associations for IT, BBA, and Mass Communication students. Our team will ensure that all projects are well-implemented and that departmental machines and equipment are well-managed.
- The IT Association will be dedicated to developing IT projects, hosting coding challenges, and organizing tech mentorship hackathons for both weekend and regular students.
- Student Souvenirs: Custom-made souvenirs (t-shirts, pens, mugs, etc.) for all departments to foster a sense of identity and belonging.
- Mr. & Mrs. Bluecrest: A flagship event to be held during Akwaaba week, scheduled to ensure maximum participation from both weekday and weekend students.
- Establishment of Fun Clubs: We will support the creation of clubs (Cultural Troupe, Modeling, Drama Club, etc.) with activities scheduled on weekends or during breaks to engage your creativity outside of the classroom.
- Departmental & Fun Excursions: We will organize educational and fun excursions for all departments. Weekend students will have priority options scheduled on weekends or during holiday breaks to accommodate work commitments.
5. BlueCrest Fashion & Creativity Awards (BFCA)
An annual signature event designed to celebrate the exceptional talent, creativity, and innovation of Bluecrest students—including weekend students. We will ensure weekend students have the opportunity to showcase their work and attend the event.
6. Improved Sports Activities
We believe in a healthy mind in a healthy body. We will revitalize our sports scene by organizing and promoting:
- Basketball: Leagues and training for both male and female students, with weekend-friendly schedules.
- Soccer: Regular matches and tournaments on weekends to foster team spirit and fitness.
7. Campus Multimedia System
We will transform how information flows across Bluecrest, ensuring weekend students are never left out.
- The Bluecrest Media Team: A dedicated team of student content creators, journalists, and broadcasters to produce engaging daily content—including campus news, event coverage, student spotlights, and responsible “gossip” segments.
- Digital Display Network: We will mount flat-screen televisions at key, high-traffic locations across campus (cafeterias, lounges, and common areas) to continuously display:
- Official school announcements and event calendars.
- Programmes and achievements from all academic departments.
- Showcases of student projects, products, and innovations.
- Highlights from awards, sports events, and social activities.
- Professional Audio Equipment: We will purchase professional wireless microphones to enhance media activities and campus events.
8. Campus Health and Sanitation Committee
A clean campus is a healthy and productive campus. We will establish a dedicated Health and Sanitation Committee to ensure our environment is safe, hygienic, and welcoming for everyone—especially during weekend sessions.
- Regular Sanitation Drills: Organize and supervise weekly cleanup exercises to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Waste Management & Sensitization: Implement proper waste segregation and run awareness campaigns.
- Health Screenings & First Aid: Collaborate with health professionals to organize periodic health screening exercises.
